Interpretation of Dress code for aqua shard?

This is the dress code for aqua shard.

Do you think this means no trainers at all and men need to wear leather shoes or just not gym trainers?

DRESS CODE
Dress code is smart casual. Aqua Shard regret that entry will not be allowed to those wearing shorts, flip flops, sports kit or sports shoes.

I reckon if you’re in Alexander wang or balenciaga trainees then you’re fine

I wore white converse in aqua shard. Was fine and allowed in.

I've been a few times. Don't recall it being that dressed up nor a dress code! I didn't see anyone in complete gym or sport outfit, but certainly not all in suits and ties- in fact, not sure anyone was that formal!

I would think its the overall look, rather than checking individual shoes whether they are leather or not. Maybe it means no white trainers with dark jeans or overt sporting club wear?

I think trainers that aren't obviously sporty such as converse etc would be ok.

Thanks everyone that what I though too. I've been before in 2012 and has "Jeans a nice top" and sandals!

I will wear sandals and a maxi dress denim jacket, husband will wear t shirt/ jeans and an inoffensive pair of fashionable grey Adidas trainers. We both look like we are dressed to go out on the casual side of smart casual but most likely will be Mid afternoon on a weekday.

I've been to Aqua Shard a few times and it's not especially smart. Jeans and trainers (fashion rather than too sporty) will be fine.
