Benenden Healthcare - anyone have this?

I have some chronic health conditions (including some mental health problems) which I really need dealing with.
Whilst I believe the NHS is fantastic at saving lives I just don’t think they have the time or capacity to help those with chronic conditions.
The waiting times, especially since Covid have obviously been put back more than ever,
I have some ongoing gynae issues as well and have currently been waiting a year for treatment, it’s getting too much.
My friend has recommended Benenden healthcare. I had never heard of them but at £11 per month, I am interested.
Has anyone used these? Are they any good? The online reviews are a bit 50/50.

No experience but you need to check whether the cover will include pre-existing conditions. Most don't as far as I know.

I cannot quite grasp what they do. It seems that you can get diagnosed quicker and then you go back into the NHS at a higher place on the list or you pay private prices for what you need anyway. It is not the same as private healthcare.

My parents used to have it but cancelled it.

We have it. It's not private insurance but it's designed to give access to private treatment non life threatening illnesses. We have used it to access physio and telephone counseling.

Theforest this is what I am struggling to find the info on. I would need it to cover the three existing issues I already have but am not sure if these what be covered.

We've got it. It's been useful for getting scans quickly and the private gp is helpful. Also had a coil fitted there as wanted anaesthetic and their gynae department is very good. I don't think they cover chronic /ongoing issues so you'd need to check this. And I think there is also a (fairly low) annual limit on how much you can claim and how many times you can use it. And there is definitely a six month period after you join before you can claim so you may find the NHS quicker for you existing issues anyway.
