Work trainers recommendations for painful feet needed

Hi all
I’m on my feet all day at work and coupled with a bunion, plantar fasciitis and what I suspect is the beginning of arthritis in my feet I’m in desperate need of recommendations for footwear. Have tried ASICS trainers and currently wearing Sketchers dupes with orthotic insoles added but I’m still in a lot of pain after my shifts. Any recommendations would be gratefully received!

My sister has plantar fasciitis and swears by fitflops- I’m not sure if they would work with your other issues though. I came on to suggest Skechers but see you’ve already tried those!

I have fibromyalgia, bursitis in my ankle joint and arthritis, I’m finding Skechers uno’s fantastic

Shaped footbed memory foam insoles and air cushion sole I’m currently building a collection as they’re so comfy

I looooooove my Reebok Floatrides. It is the most comfortable trainer I have ever worn and it doesn’t break the bank like a pair of Saucony’s would either.
Sketchers made my PF worse.
My mums’s physio said that you have to wear a shoe that slightly lifts your toe to relieve PF, no idea if that is recommended but my mum swears by it.

Good old Reebok classics are very good. You can get them cheaply from Amazon and M and M direct. I have very wide feet that get very sore with lupus related joint pain and they’re the only things that are comfy for me.

Shouldbedoing · 18/08/2021 22:06

Sketchers gave me PF
I now wear Fit Flop Rally and get great support

Skechers with the goga mat soles. Wore a variety of these for 2 years with PF and bunions, couldn’t tolerate anything else (PF now almost cured)

I have plantar faciitus and hobbit wide feet! I had a gait assessment done where they video your gait from behind. Many sports shoe shops, runners need etc do it for free. I roll inwards and the asics kayano straighten this up a great deal.

I know you said you've tried asics, but do you know whether you roll in our out and tried shoes for your condition? Correcting this, might take pressure off the ankles and feet in general.

@Perching & @Bagelsandbrie are Reebok's true to size?

FrangipaniBlue · 18/08/2021 22:22

Do they have to be trainers? I wear Hoka Recovery Sliders and they are amazing!

I have an outdoor pair and an indoor pair that I wear as slippers 😂

I find if anything I downsize by half a size…. I’m a 6.5 in most shoes but I usually size up a bit because my feet are wide, I don’t need to in the Reeboks so I wear a 6 in them.

Indoctro · 18/08/2021 22:23

You need Oofos , which are made for PF and are runners recovery shoes

They are absolutely amazing I live in the flip flops all summer and the trainers all winter

New Balance work for me. I get men’s, they are wider.

ClemDanFango · 18/08/2021 22:25

Every pair of Reeboks I’ve had recently have been great for my feet, most come with built in memory foam insoles now.

Perching · 18/08/2021 22:39

@Bagelsandbrie I find them true to size, I am a 6.5. I order from Amazon + one size up or down if in doubt and just send the extra pair back with no problems the one that doesn’t fit. My local Sports Direct and Footlocker now only sell what I would term fashion trainers, so I go to Amz for the running/cross trainers.

I also loved fit flops for PF (had mine cured through acupuncture in the end). I had the ballet flats and boots as well as the sandals.

billy1966 · 18/08/2021 23:45

Will have to have a look at fit flops.

HandlebarLadyTash · 20/08/2021 20:04

Mens new balance with the roll bar I had to widen them with my shoe stretch thingi.
Vionic shoes have arch support & a selection of wide shoes & I wear their slippers all the time, unless its warm & I wear Archie's flipflops
