I have been waiting for surgery for a stage 4 prolapse for nearly two years. Was due to happen last march and was cancelled due to Covid. I started a new job (same company so still get sick pay) in July. I was offered the job last July so it has been a year of waiting and I was only offered my "office" in June this year due to business need in my chosen area. The job is training heavy in the first 6 months and you are advised not to take any time off. However we already had a two week holiday booked so I have taken that already. My Step father is also sadly terminally ill and will probably not make it past the next two weeks. I will need to take time for his funeral.
The date I have been given for my op is the beginning of September. This is going to really mess work around as I need a six week recovery. It generally works out okay with other areas of life. In fact if it's not now then next summer would probably be best.
I would like to accept the surgery, the prolapse has quite a significant effect on my life, but I know that I am making a terrible impression with my new team.
Wwyd in these circumstances?
Thanks
