Tips and advice for looking more groomed, polished and/or glam?

Hello,

I posted a thread last night about feeling generally stuck in a rut of just feeling generally unhealthy, sluggish (you know that feeling when you've eaten your body weight in food after Xmas)

And just generally crap!

You can easily tell, my nails are snapped, brittle, haven't been painted in god knows how long (I usually have gels on etc), I literally wear the same outfit on repeat atm due to not knowing how to dress for the changing seasons (I have just invested in a "shacket" and have a few bits I really want but until the weather changes properly I don't really want to spend loads on all new stuff) - plus I like shopping the autumn colours and seeing what's in season.

My face is a right spotty mess, I very rarely wear make up (on date night, special occasions, meals out), it's dry and I have tiny little spots on the top of my nose which are sore!

My eyebrows are well and truly out of control and my hair is a snapped mess in need of some life.

I am not eating well in the slightest and know this is something that needs to change, I was doing calorie counting for a while and really enjoyed it. I maybe drink a glass of water a day (not like me at all - I'm a bit water drinker)

So yeah just generally feeling crap.

What wise words would you pass onto looking and feeling better - even when you're feeling a bit crappy?
Or tips for looking more polished and glam? Even on a nursery run or just mooching round the shops?

Thank you in advance!

Drink water & do some gentle exercise (eg walking) to get you started and feeling healthier (ie easy wins)

then make yourself a capsule of outfits

face scrub, haircut, brows done & manicure - easy wins

thats my suggestion :)

I got into the same position during lockdown. Not I wear the same basic makeup (about 4 or 5 makeup items) and the same simple hairstyle every day (unless I’m going out out) and I do find it makes me feel better and also more like varying my outfits. It doesn’t take me long to do the makeup at all. I also always have my toenails painted a bright colour. I know it’s a little thing but it helps me feel better and they last for ages! Pick the thing that will make you feel better, do that every day, and then add on other things when you can. Can you book a haircut too? That always makes me feel much much better. Nearly 12 months without (last year and this year with lockdown) wasn’t great even though I have a one length style and no colour.
