Refurbished laptops?

Hi!

I've just been accepted to college to do an access course then hoping to do a degree in fashion design after.

I know I'll need a laptop...

Are I macs the best? I'll imagine I'll be using it for design work as well as essays etc.

Can anyone recommend a good laptop? Also are refurbished ones just as good?

I'll need to take out a loan if I'm not entitled to a grant etc

Any advice/help much appreciated!! Nervous quite mature student here lol

I would suggest you ask the college what is the best to have for your course.

I have bought a refurbished PC (so windows) and it has been fine. It was from a specialist refurbishing company with a 3 month warranty. I wouldn't buy one from someone just advertising it as refurbished as they may mean they have cleaned the keyboard and untangled the power lead.

I think one concern is the state of the battery and how long it holds its charge, as a replacement battery can be expensive.
