Wish me luck... I'm tidying my 8yos bedroom

She is unfortunately the sort of child who just needs to look at her room for it to resemble a bomb site. I don't know how she does it. I help her tidy regularly. But she really does struggle.

But her grandparents need to sleep in there this weekend, so I'm going in. She currently away with them for a few days.

If anyone has managed to teach their child to be tidier...I'm happy to accept tips.

My 8 year old DS is much the same - I also tackled his room a few days ago while he was away with my parents! Good luck! And I will be watching for any helpful tips too....

How bad is it? My 8yo has a thing about mess so wouldn’t be able to live in clutter. This helps as I know all her things are put away nicely and means less work me 👊🏼

Less stuff
Good organisation /storage.
Play one thing a time. So finish with lego, pack awayh before playing barbies for example.

Anything not picked up end of the day goes in the bin /charity /hidden. I did this once with each of my. Kids now they know. Especially lego that goes up the hoover. Haven't got time to be fiddling picking yo bits theure toon lazy to pick up. At 8 they're more than capable of keeping a room semi tidy.

I find a good tidy and stealthily throwing out anything that hasn't been used for 6 months a good way to keep it under control.
