Urgent travel help needed please

Hi I’m really struggling to understand what I need so I’m hoping for some help.

I need to travel to Tenerife urgently as I have been told my father is hours away from passing. I have been double jabbed but have only just applied for the certificate on the nhs app. I’m not sure if that will come through quickly and I’m not sure if Tenerife accept the digital version?

I read on another thread I need to book a test for no more than 3 days prior to return. Is that correct?

Lastly does anyone know if there is any fast track way in exceptional circumstances? My head is swimming with all of this.

Spain should accept your digital certificate, as long as you can show it on your phone if/when they ask for it at the airport. I assume it’s been 14+ days since your last dose?

You need to fill in the SpTH form which will give you a QR code to scan when you land in Spain. It’s pretty straightforward, shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes.

Coming back to the UK you’ll need a test - you can get one at a local clinic and many of them are walk in, so don’t worry about this too much until you’ve got your flight back booked and sorted.

Then you’ll also need to fill in the UK Passenger Locator Form and include a booking reference for a Day 2 Test, booked through a government-approved provider. I use NWP (£40, postal test you can do at home) but there are many others around.

Ps I’m Spanish and could try and help further if you need - where exactly on Tenerife are you going to? I’m happy to look up clinics nearby for your return test if you’d like.

Can I ask when I complete the spTH form it’s asking for either my EU COVID digital certificate or other certificate. Is the NHS one considered as the eu one? Thanks

No, the NHS one would be ‘others’. The EU Cert one has that specific name…

I’ve just returned from Lanzarote. The digital certificate was absolutely fine. You can take your tests to return in resort… takes 15 mins and should cost around €20. Join this group on Facebook…. It’s the oracle for covid travel. Good luck!
