In October! For me and my husband. Please any suggestions, preferably south east of England. Been to London several times, also been to some places in the countryside but we'd like a town/city. Some nice places to stay and eat and just spend some time together. Thank you

How far south? Bournemouth ? Brighton?

JanisJ · 16/08/2021 20:47

Norwich is lovely.

Mouldygrape · 16/08/2021 20:49

Oh I forgot to say I live in Brighton, so not Brighton 🤣

I thought maybe Norwich or Bath actually, no more than three hours from Brighton ideally

I also really really love Bristol. It's my favourite uk city.

Bath is great for a romantic weekend. I recommend the Gainsborough hotel - has its own amazing spa pool and really handy for everything.

gogohm · 16/08/2021 20:53

Bath? Winchester?

Zzzzfthg · 16/08/2021 20:53

100% Bath - we've been for many weekend's there. Stayed in a lovely B&B or also an Air b&b, visited Bath spa at twilight and there's some great romantic cocktail bars.

Bath is so fucking boring. Would recommend Bristol, Arundel, Rye, Deal, Hastings.

Southwold or Aldeburgh

Another vote for Norwich. Loads of quirky independent places to eat/drink in, easy to get around, and it's buzzy without being too touristy.

I'm going to Rochester with my bf in October because of a specific historic interest. Maybe think of something specific you like and build it round that?

kpfragglesrock · 16/08/2021 22:39

Another vote for Bath. The Thermae Spa is amazing. We went at night, sitting in the rooftop pool in the dark.

I always recommend this place to everyone. We absolutely love it www.bethnalandbec.com/
