I was playing a game on the phone and the phone heated. Is it dangerous

DD's phone started overheating regularly, and it would run out of charge very quickly. It meant that the battery had reached the end of its life. Unfortunately you can't replace batteries in most modern phones, so it meant that she needed a new phone.

I think it can be the app, not the phone itself. I have this with the Chess app for example. Imagine it is dangerous; I would turn the app off and in particular not play it whilst the phone is charging.

It's definitely the app. I don't play it often but when I do the screen heats up.

I'm apprehensive about using the app. I have it to play 2player with someone else.

You can have new battery fitted for about £25-45, that’s what you need to do. Eventually the phone could explode or at least crack open because the battery expands....
