Is this company obliged to remove my name?

I googled myself yesterday, as you do. I have an unusual combination of names, both my given name and surname are relatively uncommon and there is nobody else with the name anywhere in the world, as far as I can see. So there aren't many hits and those that there are, refer to me. Fine.

One of the hits was a testimonial on a business site, written by an ex-colleague from 20 YEARS ago. It says something like "I worked with ABC consulting in my role at DEF Fabrication. I was in charge of the customer service team with team leaders Pocahontas McKenzie and Euphemia Mountbatten-Windsor reporting into me. Blah blah blah"

As the Pocahontas in question, can I ask for my name to be removed from a testimonial which I didn't write, is 20 years out of date, and which I wasn't asked about? I have emailed and asked them to remove it out of common courtesy and tbh probably won't take it further if they ignore/refuse.

And and for why I want it removed - it was a long time ago, the guy who is using the testimonial was a complete arse, and i'm now working in a totally different field so it's irrelevant.

But it's not untrue. No harm in asking but if you did want to take it further, on what grounds?

Agree that it's true. But I don't particularly want my name "out there" linked to a positive testimonial about a company run by someone who was a total arse when I knew him. And I think it's a bit sketchy presenting this is a recent testimonial when the events described happened in 2001 and 2002.

And I just think it's a wee bit cheeky to do it without checking that people are OK with it.

It absolutely is cheeky.

If they aren't being clear about the dates that's certainly something you could tell them to knock off!

I also think the testimonial would read in exactly the same way if it said "I was in charge of the customer service department with 2 team leaders and 80 team members reporting into me". There's no need for the names.
