Has anyone just watched him on the morning news talking about Afghanistan? I lost count of how many times he talked about "processing people". These are actual fxking human beings - terrified human beings in danger. The sights at Kabul airport are heartbreaking and he repeatedly minimises it to "processing people".

Never heard of him. Which says a lot. Poor Afghans, what a total and unnecessary tragedy we've brought upon these people.

No, he was talking about the processing taking too long so they are doing what they can to speed it up as they must do checks to prevent Taliban members using the system (which he said some had tried so those checks are vital). Of course people need to have some form of processing so stop being so self righteous and naive - he was taking about rescuing as many people as possible including active who had ever worked for the government. Stop taking one word and hearing something that makes you angry - there’s plenty of other things to be angry about re Afghanistan!

Whilst I get how the phrase can be easily misunderstood, Mr Wallace is one of maybe three cabinet members who actually have a clue and are not incompetent (the rudest man in politics Michael Gove and maybe Kwasi Kwarteng being the other two).

The tragedy seems to me to be the worst legacy of Donald Trump's four years in the Oval Office.

Maybe that he usually gets on with his job without scandal or putting his foot in it? I haven't heard this interview so I'll reserve judgment, but he's a good constituency MP.

It's the fault of trump... and Biden and Bush. But the primary fault is with the Taliban and religious extremists.

Apologies to Ben Wallace, have remembered who he is now and he does not deserve to be insulted by me. FreeBritney, Ben Wallace has described the Trump deal as a "rotten deal". Which it is, and should never have been formally accepted, so everyone is to blame apart from the poor Afghans who have to try to live there while various nations play with it like a dog with a bone. God help them.
