Sunbeds and tan accelerator / extender

I want to get a sunbed soon, I will only spend ten minutes in it though.

I’ve heard about it tan accelerator and extender - do you apply both of them before you go into the sunbed and does it matter which one you put on first?

Also, can I use sun cream before going in the sunbed?

I'm always amazed these things are still available. Do you actively want skin cancer?

No but I do want a nice lasting tan

Please don’t OP - skin cancer is hideous and a very real danger if you use a sun bed. Ten minutes is also a very long time for such intense exposure.

I realise you weren’t asking about the safety of sun beds or for a lecture but please have a rethink. There are so many great fake tans now!

Why would you do this?

userxx · 15/08/2021 20:55

Just don't.

10 minutes! Have you used sunbeds before. I used to use but would never do more than 6 minutes, and most commonly 3. 10 is a long time on a sunbed

OP there were a couple in a gym where I worked at a few years ago then they got removed for health & safety. 10 mins with tan accelerator is like cooking yourself, do not do it. Just buy fake tan. I get the spray on one (Boots own brand I think or amber solaire, can't remember, price isn't bad, don't bother with the poncey expensive ones that you need to wash off with gloves and all that rubbish), takes me about 5 mins to spray on, drys almost instantly.

Problem with 10 min tan bed with accelerator is that you might get skin cancer.

Just fake it
