What's your Sunday looking like?

We had my mum over for a roast at lunchtime for the first time in ages (probably since pre-covid, although she's been for bbqs in the garden)
Dh, ds2 and I went for a bike ride this morning, again for the first time in ages.
I'm now on the sofa with a glass of wine reading, ds2 is on the PS4, ds1 is out with friends and Dh is upstairs watching TV.
It's felt like a proper Sunday. I'm a teacher and school holiday days have a habit of merging together so it's nice to feel Sunday-ish.
How have other people's days been?

Pottered about doing not a lot this morning, managed to persuade DC to get dressed and go to the park on their scooters this afternoon. It rained once we got there but we met some lovely friendly dogs. DH let DC play minecraft for a lot longer than they are usually allowed. I made a dinner we have never had before that DC liked. Now I need to go and bath DC and get them ready for bed, but am drinking wine and MNing. Am back at work tomorrow after 2 weeks annual leave, which is driving my anxiety up.

GooodMythicalMorning · 15/08/2021 18:56

Had 2nd jab yesterday and feeling rubbish today.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 15/08/2021 18:58

Tested positive for Covid so first day of isolation for me. Have 8yo DS to entertain for 10 days too! Thankfully I am completely asymptomatic so far.

devildeepbluesea · 15/08/2021 19:00

Was at friends house last night, so we took all the dogs out for a walk this morning. Then drove home, did a Bodypump on Les Mills Online, did a shop and since then been lounging on the sofa watching TV.

DD with her dad this weekend, so having a nice chilled time.

Yourstupidityexhaustsme · 15/08/2021 19:01

I’ve ironed all day and cleaned the kitchen. Thrown a quiche in for us all (had with wedges and beans). We’ve all chilled and now settling down to watch Dr who with the DC. It’s felt like the Sundayest-Sunday in forever!

BrilloPaddy · 15/08/2021 19:01

I've got a raging bout of sinusitis and horrid pains in my ears/head thanks to my youngest grandchild who had a cold.

DH has also got it, and is constantly sniffing....... every 3 seconds at present. I'm using MN rather than a machete although that may change at any moment now..............

DeathMetalMum · 15/08/2021 19:02

Dd's have swimming on a Sunday morning. Then I did some gardening whilst dp took dd's out for a walk for an hour. Lunch (no Sunday roast here) and then I did a bit more gardening.

This afternoon I recovered a chair that I had been putting off for a few weeks. Dd1 went upstairs and was listening to the radio/chilling and dd2 was playing with her post office. Dd's have been asking for a new game on their tablets so they downloaded it and played on them while I finished chair.

dementedma · 15/08/2021 19:02

Usual quiet Sunday.
Visited mum, baked a cake, did laundry, pottered in garden, dyed hair.
Now watching news and drinking wine

trevthecat · 15/08/2021 19:04

We went to mil's this morning as she has a new dog, went to the park, husband left for work (works away) me and kids went home, I tidied and made tea. Now me and the youngest are in my bed watching TV before he goes to bed and the other two are in their rooms on phones!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 15/08/2021 19:04

Woke up on a riverbank with DH in our tent. Paddled 14miles downstream in our canoe. Got picked up by FIL, went for dinner with PILs and DDs. Now at home enjoying a cold beer.

First child free time in months.

troppibambini6 · 15/08/2021 19:04

Just got back from a day at beach. Dh is in the pool with the two youngest while two eldest are showering. Going for a walk up into old town drinks, dinner and churros.
We are on holiday in spain.

Guineapigbridge · 15/08/2021 19:05

Just waking up. Tropical country so tropical weather. I'm going with my triathlon group for a swim. Shops all closed; most people here go to church. I'll hear the singing from 10am.

Gemzee · 15/08/2021 19:07

It's my 6th wedding anniversary. We took our 3 year old son for his swimming lesson, then his uncle picked him up & he is staying with his cousins tonight which he absolutely loves!
Me & my husband had a pub lunch, we came home, he watched footy (Spurs), I had a short nap (wine at lunch!) then I made pasta for a lasagne for dinner (I love cooking!). Now drinking a Cosmo while the sauces simmer.

MirandaMarple · 15/08/2021 19:15

Very chilled. Had two really late nights so slept in.

Had breakfast, a long walk with the dogs, put some shelves in a cupboard that used to house the old boiler and now I keep going in it to marvel at my creation.

About to tuck into slow cooked brisket with a very large glass of red wine then I'll be lolling around watching some TV.

vampirethriller · 15/08/2021 19:18

Toddler, dog and I went to the allotment this afternoon and picked beans, dug up some potatoes and had short but intense argument about proper use of the hosepipe.
She's just gone to bed and I'm knitting some big socks.

Sigh.

Winenota · 15/08/2021 21:45

Gosh, such lovely sundays here.
I put on a wash, made pancakes, went to the dump ( sooo much plastic packaging. Supermarkets be very ashamed) then went to the allotment and marvelled at potatoes! Carrots! Peas! Came home and cooked the lot, wit a lovely glass of chilled white. Also dp and I chatted nicely, things have been strained of lately, so this was lovely.

I would prefer your Sunday to mine - feels like Autumn is setting in here.

Went to Knole Park in Sevonoaks for the very first time although been driving past it for years. Saw loads of deer close up. Stags all sitting together tails and ears twitching away the flies. Does gracefully galloping together. Absolutely beautiful. Weather was great. Got all my steps done in an hour.

We got back from a week in Devon yesterday so spent this morning unpacking, washing and generally pottering around the house. Made 6 Sunday lunches - one for us each, one each for parents who are having work done on their kitchen at the moment, one for 85 year old neighbour and one for DH to take to work tomorrow. Spent the afternoon watching Downton Abbey on Prime then picked up some work bits from my assistant who tested positive for COVID last week so now has to isolate (she left them on her doorstep, I swapped them for flowers, chocolate and magazines). Spent the evening watching more Downton, made egg mayo filling for lunches this week and just finished watching the Handmaids Tale. It’s been a relaxing but satisfying day.

Strokethefurrywall · 15/08/2021 22:24

It’s only 4.20pm here in Caribbean, I’ve just prepped roast potatoes and broccoli cheese (I’m out of cauliflower), and about to do stuffing and Yorkshire’s. Dinner around 6ish I guess.

We went for pancakes this morning and then built some ikea hemnes chest of drawers for DS1s bedroom. I’m watching modern family and fussing DDog2 as we had DDog1 PTS on Friday 😞

Disgustingly hot here but need some comfort food.

LeonoraFlorence · 15/08/2021 22:25

Lots of lovely Sundays! Love reading about them.

We had a party to go to last night so we had a late night. Had a lazy morning and girls played with/built Lego with DH and I prepared dinner. Then we went to old castle ruins next to local ish beach and had a good few hours there with friends and their DC. Family all came round to ours for roast and now DH and I are on the couch with baby, hoping to go to bed soon. DDs all sound asleep.

ReginaaPhalange · 15/08/2021 22:50

Picked up food shop from click and collect then had some lunch. Straight up for an afternoon nap as pregnancy taking its toll on me a bit. Went for a wee walk with DH to try relieve the hip pain. Started talking about things we used to eat as a kid from the garden (we asked passed a wild bramble bush) and j mentioned rhubarb! DH had instant craving for rhubarb pie so we went to Tesco but they don't sell any! Back home for a roast chicken dinner. I've tidied up a bit and had a bath! In bed now hugging my pregnancy pillow and DH downstairs watching what sounds like West Coast Customs!
