Who gives a crap

I was wondering if anyone had used the loo roll company 'Who gives a Crap'? I'm pondering on whether to use them as the products are more eco friendly, which is something I want to do more of.

Is it worth the money? Is the delivery service good? Is there anything I should know?

Thank you!

I haven't used them personally but I know loads of people who do and they all rave about it.

The only thing is they seem to come in bulk so you need somewhere to store them. Although that may just be the people I know scrimping on delivery fees by getting loads delivered at once!

firstimemamma · 15/08/2021 16:26

We've used them for a couple of years. There is an eco shop which sells the toilet rolls for a pound each and I buy 2-3 a week. They're really good.

PunchyAnts · 15/08/2021 16:31

We have used them for a few years and have been really happy with them. Delivery has always been quick and reliable. They come in 24 or 48 packs but each roll is double the size of a standard so they should last twice as long! You do obviously need somewhere to store them all.

BikeRunSki · 15/08/2021 16:33

They are good, but I am not convinced of the eco friendliness of shipping from China. I’ll be getting Serious Tissues toilet rolls next time. They are made in the UK.

ShaunaTheSheep · 15/08/2021 16:34

Tried the standard rolls and wasn't impressed. The more expensive ones may be better.

CantStandMeow · 15/08/2021 16:36

We used to. But the quality of the paper has dropped since they changed manufacturers so we stopped.

SnitchyBitch · 15/08/2021 16:37

My sibling uses them, always has 3000 loo rolls stacked up in their bathroom.
I normally buy Cheeky Panda.

ShowOfHands · 15/08/2021 16:38

We tried them but I didn't like the amount of packaging or the shipping distance so use a different eco bulk order company who use minimal packaging and a fraction of the distance.

WitchDancer · 15/08/2021 16:39

Thank you for your feedback.

We have a little cupboard at the end of the bath, which goes under the sloping end, so plenty of room to store them.

Good that they're twice the length.

I don't know why but I'm not much keen on the idea of recycled paper, so would probably go for the bamboo ones.

We get the premium stuff and it’s great, I love the convenience of the large delivery & then not thinking about it for ages. However I think there are better eco brands around - wgac ship from China which is questionable. I intend to switch to box roll which is U.K. manufactured (& also not individually wrapped which has to be better), delivered by our local zero waste store for our next top up.

GrimDamnFanjo · 15/08/2021 16:39

We use them and are very happy. They do last a long time.
I've also heard good things about Cheeky Panda.

Nonibaloni · 15/08/2021 16:41

My mum had them on some kind of standing order so here spare room has a permanent toilet roll fort. They are excellent for small children to use as bricks. I just take a carrier bag full everytime I visit so I’m not sure on delivery etc. I do know that she appreciates the fancy paper they are wrapped in because it looks smart in the loo.

WitchDancer · 15/08/2021 16:41

Cheeky Panda are out of stock at the moment 😔

crapbuttrue · 15/08/2021 16:42

I like them wrapped as I stack them on a shelf so they look interesting.

Bamboo best.

WitchDancer · 15/08/2021 16:43

Oh my word, there's loads of companies out there that do it!!

clarrylove · 15/08/2021 16:43

They are shipped from China! How eco is that when toilet tissue is made in the UK?!

A really good point and something I hadn't considered

Dreadful name. I'd maybe consider it if it wasn't for that. I know I'm not the only one as it's frequently mentioned in reviews.

FinallyHere · 15/08/2021 16:49

We tried their premium version a while back and DH really rates them. We now have them on subscription.

They come individually wrapped so they are stacked one roll deep behind the bathroom door. I fight my instincts to control the patterns so they mostly end up in a random patterned stack. Almost modern art.

We tend to have a full box in the garage, and the next box turns up shortly after the contents of the latest box has been stacked up behind the door.

I don't rate them, but then I have a weakness for a loo roll advertised by puppies. DH prefers them (and uses heaps of loo roll)

drspouse · 15/08/2021 16:53

All the bamboo paper ships from China, but we prefer the recycled paper.
A lot of other loo roll ships a long way - ships are not too bad AIUI.

frenchnovice · 15/08/2021 16:54

No. .shipping loo roll half way round the world, when it's made here, is a bit mad really. I used to use sainsbury recycled made in uk and now wrapoed on paper. been out of stock for ages though

I’m going to look at this company now so thank you. Re the other brand, I always thought that a ship was ok eco wise but I’m not keen in the human rights abuses so whilst this can be unavoidable sometimes, where it’s a conscious decision it’s a no from me.
SW1amp · 15/08/2021 16:54

They are great, but get the ‘premium’ stuff
The standard range is a bit scratchy

drspouse · 15/08/2021 16:55

Those do look good @BikeRunSki
