Can anyone suggest a Travelodge on the M6?

About an hour or two south of the Lakes?

It's blowing my mind trying to work out how close to the motorway their places are. Or is there a way to search by the roads hotels are on?

There's a few places off J23 on the A580. A holiday Inn at Haydock, a Travelodge and premier Inn at Lowton and I think a Mercure towards St Helens.

All are within 5 mins of the M6 on a dual carriageway and about 1hr from Kendal.

If it’s staying on the way, there are a few hotels at motorway services on the way. We stayed at a travelodge on the M6 at services near, I think, Stoke once. It was fine - clean, big family room.

Haydock has a lot of hotels
Chorley - between m61 and m6 well placed for lakes and you could go to rivington for a nice walk and food
Travelodge knutsford is actually on the m6 - you could also pair with trip into knutsford/tatton

Haydock holiday inn is lovely and has a pool, and you can sometimes get a bargain for the same price as a PI or TL.

In general I'd always choose a PI over a TL if possible, I find them much cleaner and to a high standard everywhere. Whereas TLs are hit and miss.
