Good morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I had a proper lie in for a change & am just enjoying my first cuppa in silence while everyone else is still asleep! We went for a walk to town and home yesterday, then a late night, so dd2's knackered.

Downstairs needs tackling today - it's a bit of a mess. Lots of pots to wash , & things out of place that need returning to their rightful homes so I'll get dressed and make a start shortly.

I think the girls will probably Minecraft, but dd2 wanted to try growing sugar crystals again so maybe we'll do that. Last time wasn't a success!

I've a few things left on my Rainbows and Guides to do list to finish so will tick of some of those & then pick up one of my crochet projects for the afternoon. Should really tackle the front garden but that can wait for another day.

I'm making butter chicken for tea & will have a glass or two of wine with it. Ice cream roll for pudding .

What about all of you? Anyone up to much? :)

Not too much here today, currently sat on Mumsnet whilst everybody else is asleep/chilling out.
Later on, I really don't feel like doing much today, so it'll be a day of 'do as you please' and tomorrow we will go out for the day.
Think we may have an Indian for tea.

DS1 and I are having a bit of a lazy morning while DH and DS2 are at the supermarket then in the afternoon we are doing back to school shopping (pick up jumpers from the uniform shop and buy school shoes). Will also nip to lidl and buy a bargain childs wetsuit for DS1.

I’m clearing out the bedrooms and stripping the walls. As soon as I get my arse into gear 🤨

I had a lie in too. Just had my coffee in the garden.
Lots of cleaning to do for guests staying next week so I need to clear all the crap everywhere.
Popping out to meet a friend for a walk later.
Making a curry for dinner. We made an apple crumble yesterday from the apples in our garden and there’s lots leftover.

Long distance away game. I'm so happy for him.

I'm just pottering this morning. About to put some washing out then going to pop out to buy some fags and a card for a colleague's silver wedding garden party I'm attending this afternoon.

I'm in work (on break now) 3 12 and a half hour shifts in a row. One more to go!

Staying over with my boyfriend. Thinking about ds but he's probably OK (he's 17). Just going to get a bus into town for lunch. Had a long phone chat with my mum already who seems fine. Very happy today.

Only me and the dog in today , so lots of lazing around and enjoying the peace.

Have cleaned the kitchen. Currently watching DS at his swimming lesson then going to pack up the car travel to family for the weekend to celebrate BIL's 50th. Pub meal booked tonight - so looking forward to it!

I am supposed to be cleaning the house and cooking as we have visitors coming later. In reality I am sitting in the garden drinking coffee and listening to the birds.

So far GWR have decided we have to make an un-advertised change. I’m not holding my breath for our seat reservations to exist when we get on the London train.

Might iron the dcs uniform and hem it if it needs taken up. We are back to school very soon.

I’m at our holiday home, its actually an old stable, so I’m here for DIY purposes. We’ve had the roof all fixed, the windows are being fitted today, so we’ll soon be waterproof. I’m painting the ceiling and then treating the beams (its a vaulted ceiling). The kitchen is also being delivered, I’m fitting the units, so I’m sure that will be stress free…

We’ve been on holiday, so Grandma is dropping my son off later, he has loved his six days with Grandma, I’ve cried like a baby everyday.

We’re off to a local fun fair after lunch, just a small one but the rides are just the right size for DS4, no doubt i will be bled dry by the coat of them.

Bloody GWR. The computer wasn’t working when we got on the train but they have now turned on the carriage letters but not the reservations. So we have to wait with bated breath to see if we’ve accidentally sat in someone’s reserved seats. Ours are in a coach we can’t get to

Just woken up. I'm a night shift worker. 💤 I'm back on again at 10pm tonight, so easy day today.

Just been to Asda to get my dd1’s senior school uniform and stopped at the wallpaper shop to look at samples for the living room.
Dd2 has had a sickness bug so was sick most of the night so haven’t had a lot of sleep! Am going to have a bath take dd1 to her activity and then Chinese and wine and movie night with the kids!

I had a late beakfast with sth that would be called sourdough on MN but in my area is just called bread (common or garden variety). Then I baked a marble cake, cleaned the kitchen, started the washing machine and watered the plants.
DH does the cooking.

I am in the 7th circle of hell that is Westfield on a Saturday getting back to school things.

Actually it’s not too bad now that both the DCs are old enough to go off on their own and shop themselves - while I sit with a coffee and top up their cards .

We did that yesterday Wrinkly, just need tights for both girls, & a scientific calculator for dd2 now. I'd have got them in M&S but they both prefer Primark ones & they haven't got navy ones out yet.

Still sat in my pjs with dd5. We have a family party this afternoon so need to get us both washed and dressed.
DP is on his way home on a train from a night out with friends in his home town.
DD17 is upstairs but washed and dressed so she's doing better than me 😂
DD14 stayed overnight with GP so will pick her up soon.
I also need to keep reminding myself that today is Saturday not Sunday 😂

How I sympathise 😡 Unfortunately GWR have zero compunction with chopping and changing anything at will, notifying travellers is an occasional afterthought if you’re lucky. I ended up on a double decker bus from Bristol Parkway trundling down the M4 to Newport once after they decided to stop trains because of ‘leaves on the line’ I hope you get home safely.

I have walked puppy for an hour, cleaned through the house, hung out 2 loads of washing and doing another, cooked lunch and am now considering doing a bit of gardening.....or not.

Nothing. I’m not well.

Which is fun when there is 3DC to look after, entertain and feed.

We are having a screen day, ordered Papa Johns, will probably do some colouring/reading later before bath/shower time which will be earlier than usual and then into bed early for a film.
