On Wednesday i went to London with my children. A man offered me his seat on the tube. I am 55 with white hair but I don't think I look infirm. DD reassures me he was being kind. Today i go to get on a bus and a lady tells me I can't as it is not 9.30. I get on bus pay for my ticket and then realise she thought i had a bus pass. Please tell me I am not alone in this or do I need serious help?

Kind men offer women seats in the tube all the time. I wouldn't read any thing into this other than some people are kindly.

If you feel people are thinking you are older than you are and you don't like it and want to look younger maybe try the style and beauty boards.

To be fair I think you get a bus pass age 60 so the woman at the bus stop wasn't that far out if you are 55.

Men often offer my seats on the tube and I’m 29 and slim so definitely not mistaking me for being pregnant so I wouldn’t read into that too much

At a wedding where my sister was the best woman, I got asked if I was my sister's mum. I'm just under 3 years older than her and have always been told I don't look my age. Was more than happy to bathe in the person's embarrassment when I informed them I was her sister! Doesn't help that my mum was at this wedding.

My neighbour had a baby a few years ago and I called in with a present. There was a woman sitting cooing over the baby and I said “hi, are you Jane’s mum?” And she was outraged. She said “no I am NOT! I am her best friend!” Blush I was mortified. She was fuming.

Thanks for the responses some made me giggle, I feel much better. I don't look my age it must be the white hair but I am not changing that as I like it :)
