Such a talent and only 68. Late Night Grande Hotel is one of my favourite songs.

Oh gosh, that’s sad news. From A Distance is just beautiful.

CallMeRisley · 13/08/2021 21:14

RIP

I also absolutely love Late Night Grande Hotel as well as Love at the five and dime, trouble in these fields, it’s a hard life wherever you go.

Saucery · 13/08/2021 21:15

Ah no! Sad
There’s A Light Beyond These Woods is such a beautiful song.

I loved her - seen her live once , amazing singing voice.

LimeSodaTwist · 13/08/2021 21:17

Oh, that’s sad. One of the artists I listen to a lot.

dancealittleclosertome · 13/08/2021 21:17

Oh goodness - very sad. Saw her in concert about 30 years ago. Guess you can tell by my username that I love Love at the Five and Dime.

ApplyWithin · 13/08/2021 21:17

No. I have loved her music since I discovered her as a teenager, some moons ago. That is such a loss.

Mybalconyiscracking · 13/08/2021 21:17

She defined my student years, God Rest her Soul!

NannyR · 13/08/2021 21:21

Oh no, such a talented artist. I have some great memories of seeing her live. She wrote some amazing music.

Love the user name. I’ve also seen her live as a young teen as my parents were fans. Have you heard the live recording of Love at the Five and Dime where she tells a story at the beginning about hopping off the bus as a teenager to go a rummage through the records at the five and dime store, then wink at the boys and get back on the bus Grin and how the guitar ding in the song represents the ding of the elevator in the store.
bigTillyMint · 13/08/2021 21:22

Oh no Sad

@dancealittleclosertome - great nameSmile

dancealittleclosertome · 13/08/2021 21:33

Yes I have heard that @CallMeRisley. Every now and then I do a search to see if she's touring again but I figured she wasn't well because there's been nothing for some years. I also love Speed of the Sound of Loneliness.

30degreesandmeltinghere · 13/08/2021 21:34

Ah am gutted. Saw her twice. Both times I went alone!!
Loved her since I was 15. Now 50...
What a miss.

elkiedee · 18/08/2021 06:33

I saw her play in Hammersmith in 2006. I think a friend gave me a tape at university and I was hooked., more than 30 years ago.
