Fluconazole 150 mg capsule for thrush

Hi, I took one of the above capsules on 4th August 2021 and also applied thrush cream daily. I'm still itchy, sore and burning. Tried coconut oil but that only worked for a short amount of time. Does anyone know if it's safe to take another capsule now because the itching is driving me nuts. Thanks.

I was once prescribed 3 doses to be taken on consecutive days because of a particularly bad case so I’d assume you can take another

Yes you can take another one.
But it might not be thrush.
Probably should call GP and get checked for other vaginal infections.

It could be BV, which for me presents as thrush. I've also had thrush that took a week of fluclonazole to get rid of. Hugs. It's horrible to feel uncomfortable

What is coconut oil meant to do??

You can take another capsule one week after the first one if you still have symptoms. Higher doses are often prescribed for persistent thrush - I suffer with recurrent oesophageal thrush due to autoimmune issues and often take 2/3 week daily doses of 50mg Fluconazole to clear it. If the second 150mg dose doesn’t work you need to seek medical advice.

Thanks for the replies. Took another capsule a couple of hours ago, things seemed to have calmed down quite a bit now. Hope it lasts.

I tried coconut oil because the oil is anti-fungal.
