Funny turn

Ridiculous turn of phrase in the title, but don’t know how else to describe it! As I was emptying my car this morning (heavy bell tent) I suddenly felt my whole body slump. I felt so weak and lacking in energy I could barely move, then I vomited violently and suddenly, and I was deathly pale. The whole thing lasted less than 5 minutes really, but I felt so strange. What could have caused this?

Sudden drop in blood pressure. Are you pregnant? Is it hot where you are?

husbandcallsmepickle · 13/08/2021 15:46

Low blood pressure or blood sugar?
I had similar in early pregnancy, is there a chance you could be?

Feather12 · 13/08/2021 15:52

No, definitely not pregnant. I am 48! It is very hot where I am but it was early morning so no humidity. I do have quite low blood pressure (in healthy range) so I did think of that, but it was like something I had never experienced before. It literally felt like life was being extinguished, and I know that sounds so dramatic but it was very extreme, very sudden, but also very short-lasting.

Something to do with your vagus nerve. That’s what I vaguely remember.

Thank you, that is very interesting. It does sound like that. I can be a bit of hypochondriac, so look for the worst case scenario. I didn’t even faint so it probably wasn’t that extreme, just very scary because I have never felt that way before! Good excuse to lie in my air-conditioned bedroom today though!
