Just chatting with a friend and we were discussing at what age you would leave a child alone in the car for a few minutes, ie popping into the shop etc

0 and up as when I drove I would use petrol shop.
Unless you take them out of car when paying for fuel?

Totally depends on the child. Some kids are a hazard to themselves (and others) when left alone for 30 seconds. My 6 year old would get zero alone time in the car. All the other kids would've been ok younger than that.

In a petrol station I did it from baby (but avoided it by pay at pump where possible) but made sure I locked the car door.

I’ve just started doing it with my 2 if I’m popping into the local shop for 1-2 things and I can park right outside-they are 5 and 7. I probably would t leave either of them alone though.

I've never done it, just makes me too nervous. I don't even like leaving the dog in a locked car on a petrol station forecourt. Dd is 10 now so ok now but I didn't when she was younger.
