Pregnant or pms :(

So here goes my first thread!
So I have been trying for a baby for nearly 1 year, I have never had regular periods for all my life until March this year before this it was every few months, I am happy I am now regular, I feel a bit more normal.
Anyway so on the 25th July we had unprotected sex (sorry I'm new and don't know the abbreviations) then I had a short bleed of 3 days on the 1st August, then again unprotected sex on the 8th August but on the 9th August my boobs started to hurt and are still really tender, I have mild headaches for a few days now , I am not due on until around the 25th August, I have no cramps or other pms symptoms.
My question is could I of conceived on the 25th July even though I had a short bleed ?
My app on my phones predicted ovulation on the 10th July so I could of conceived on the 8th August but I doubt I would get symptoms so quickly.
Could it all just be pms so soon as my boobs starting hurting on the 9th which is a lot earlier than balmy period due date .
I really want to be pregnant and if it dsnt happen this time I am asking to be sterilised as each month I am heart broken.

I also think you should speak to a therapist about your emotions surrounding TTC. It's very very very normal to take a year to fall pregnant (and that's for regular cycles) it seems extreme to want to be sterilised after one year of TTC

Yes it's negative but think I could be testing too early

I am also 41 and worried my time is up or maybe I am just being silly as your right it is normal for it to take longer than a year

You can sometimes get sore boobs around ovulation too. Although the bleed could have been an implantation bleed.

When I’ve had an implantation bleed (twice) it definitely didn’t last 3 days. It was a very slight bleed for not even a day. I would guess that your 3 day bleed was a period and you are not pregnant from July.

If you have conceived in August you wouldn’t be showing symptoms yet and definitely wouldn’t test positive.

Are tender boobs unusual for you? If so, there could be some possibility of pregnancy but they are definitely one of my pms symptoms and also pregnancy symptoms.

Also, if you’re trying to conceive you could do with having sex a lot more. You’ve only mentioned two unprotected occasions in two months. Obviously it can only take one time but generally you want to up your chances by doing it more often.

If I were you I'd be using ovulation tests to highlight the best days. I'd also at the very least be having sec every other day during ovulation time.
By now your GP (postcode lottery might be an issue) will do blood tests to see if everything is as it should be.
If you can afford I'd go private at 41 with irregular periods.
