I have a boring question about dreams

Last night I had a dream which was a bit boring but about having a tattoo and for some reason there were a lot of homeless children and people about.

All of these people had actual faces that I can recall quite clearly this morning but have no idea who they are. My boring question is this I’m wondering are these people that I have seen at some point in my life and my brain has stored them and has thrown them up in a dream for me. Or are they completely made up faces etc.

This is a website that generates pictures of fake people.

If AI can do this I would think your brain certainly can.

Omg @CounsellorTroi not sure why I am freaked out by that. The first one looks a lot like my cousin. There is a new one every time you click.

I wonder if you could do this with a selection of people you actually do know 🤔

Interesting. There's no way to know, really. There's still so much we don't know about the brain and about dreaming.

In my 20s I'd often hear voices as I was dropping off to sleep, like, it would be as clear as day, a sentence or two, like a random snippet of conversation. They could be male or female, young or old-sounding, never addressing me directly, just exactly as if I tuned in to someone's conversation for a second or two.

Always wondered if they were my brain randomly playing back something I'd heard, or just made up.

TLDR, brains are weird, especially when sleep in involved.

Artists draw imaginary people all the time, I'm sure the brain could make some up for your dream. If you want to you can look into the meaning of dreams. The fact that you could see all the faces clearly in the dream might mean something. I know you don't recognise them now, but did you recognise/know them in the dream? You can investigate all the individual components of your dream and put them together to work out what it means.
