Do pendulums work

Does anyone have any experience of pendulums and contacting spirits for messages?

I'm going through some intense stress and so much shit right now. Its all from outside too. Not even of my own making.

  • some of my family are dirtbags
  • my work is not good

Those are the two main stresses in my life. From them two angles alone, there's so much shit flung my way.

I bought an oracle deck last weekend. I read the instructions and I began reading the booklet and connecting with the cards. The first card I drew was amazing and the message that accompanied it was very fitting to me life and stresses right now. The message that accompanied the card reminded me to step away when I am feeling angry or upset or disappointed and mediate. There's so many shit heads left, right and centre in my life its incredible. Two in my family, a few in my work. Each and every one of them - scumbags. That was causing me stresses. I was amazed with the first pull on the cards. It was just what I needed.

Lately over the past week, I thought about using a pendulum and maybe even a board to ask questions. Just questions of a yes no nature that might help guide me a little bit more.

My question is do they work? Does anyone have experience with them?

Sorry to be harsh when you are in a bad place, but no, they don't.

It's all a pile of made up nonsense to get money out of vulnerable people.

I hope you can find some legitimate help for the way you are feeling.

No. They don't

StripeyDeckchair · 12/08/2021 19:58

No

Its all a money making scam

I'd life is tough & you need some support then pay for therapy, at least you'll get some benefit from it.

Google the ideomotor effect - basically your thoughts can unconsciously guide subtle hand movements that will set a pendulum swinging. Fascinating, but it won't tell you anything that you didn't think already.

No, there is absolutely nothing authentic about any of the methods of talking to spirits etc. The trademark for Ouija is owned by Hasbro, the toy company.

I don't think it works, but the one that you do over your pregnant belly was right for me! It actually went crazy!

Awarsewolf · 12/08/2021 20:31

Short answer: No they dont

Long answer: read what you’ve written a out your first card and explain how this wouldn’t be relevant to any person in even a slight stressful situation, and then try to think about how anything further could be exactly the same generic advice designed to cover all eventualities, guided by your own biases

The first card I drew was amazing and the message that accompanied it was very fitting to me life and stresses right now. The message that accompanied the card reminded me to step away when I am feeling angry or upset or disappointed and mediate.

That's called confirmation bias
