Best Fish and Chips in Deal / Walmer?

Fresh firm flaky cod
Fresh tasting oil
Proper chips
Crispy non greasy batter.

Blue Mermaid?
Mario chips and pizza place?
The one in the corner opposite (ish) the pier?
Others?

I tried the one opposite the bandstand a while ago and it wasn’t very good but maybe affected by lockdown.

We had a delicious meal from the blue mermaid, but that was about 4 years ago.

Middle Street Fish Bar used to be good but not been for a couple of years

Thank you, it’s so hard to work it out from Tripadvisor. Also I think a lot of places have changed hands / employed new staff.

Middle Street is the best by far

Middle Street it was, and it was very good. Massive piece of good cod, gorgeous chips. Not the best batter I have ever had but I loved the whole ‘no nonsense’ vibe of the place.
