Do you ever inexplicably do something stupid and genuinely cannot fathom why

Scrolling through some pictures and have randomly remembered the time 3 years ago I was handed my best friends beautiful 3 week old baby who I looked at, loudly said “Boo!” at her and then was mildly surprised that she cried

I’m not stupid, I have 15 years experience with kids yet somehow, all my senses were lost that day!

Lol!

I do stupid things all the time! Such as putting my freshly made coffee in the fridge and then spending half an hour looking for it.

I lovingly made a fresh pasta dish for DH. Took forever as I made the pasta. Very pleased with my efforts. Then drained it, and for some inexplicable reason, tipped the colindor (sp!) in to the sink and largely down the plughole. SIGH. Only had pasta 'n' sauce sachets in so that's what we ate Grin

Coffee in fridge common here! Have also had phone in one hand and coffee in the other and chucked coffee over the bed instead of tossing my phone!

Oh the pasta down the drain! I did that with rice yesterday! But homemade pasta! ShockSad

Have mentioned some of these on threads before...

Dropped my phone on concrete. Thought, 'wow, I'm lucky that didn't break!' then I promptly stood on it, smashing it. Honestly it was like my brain short circuited and I was not in control of my foot.

I was cleaning for a lovely family who had a 4ish year old. Said child liked to follow me around chatting. Suddenly she ordered me to go in the cupboard under the stairs. Inexplicably I said, 'No way, there's monsters in there!' - in her own home... why would I scare her like that!?

Having a gym induction and trying out the rowing machine with the personal trainer. I'm not very coordinated anyway so kind of hurriedly shoved my shoes in the pedals and pulled the strap too tight. Then he said, 'okay let's look at the free weights' and wandered off... it took him at least five minutes to wander back and say, 'are you coming? Hmm as I was still wrestling with the machine trying to get my feet free Grin I like to think he just assumed I'd followed him and was explaining all about weights to himself for five minutes Grin

I'm sure I'll think of more!

I was once helping my dad make Sunday Dinner.

Making gravy, got the kettle of boiling water. Instead of pouring into the roasting tray, I poured it over my own hand. I can remember watching myself do it thinking "that's a stupid thing to do." only stopped when I ran out of water.

Then I screamed.

Tried to catch a spider with a wine glass and stabbed myself in the foot

Pumped a ridiculous amount of breast milk and in my hazy sleep deprived state washed the pump bits and the container with milk. This happened more than once!

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 12/08/2021 15:14

How do you strap yourself in the foot?!

Oh not a pumping mess up! 💔

I was wandering round the house last week trying unsuccessfully to find my phone. I said to my friend how I had no idea where it was and I'd looked everywhere.

This would be my friend I was talking to ON THE PHONE 🙈
