... What would you buy that doesn't exist any more?

Mine would be mid 90s - a Cadbury Fuse bar!

Boots strawberries and cream layered body lotion. Boots Glitterbabes lip balms and nail varnishes. Cadbury Marble ( Australian version not the same). Body Shop Almond body lotion.

Time40 · 11/08/2021 23:54

Kunzle cakes (little sponge cakes in a chocolate shell, for younger readers).

But why go back in time to buy food, when you could go back to buy beautiful vintage clothes in new, just-made condition? I'd like a shopping trip to London in the early 1920s.

35andThriving · 12/08/2021 05:08

A Marble Bar, and a shot-lived chocolate bar called Mr Big. I also wouldn't chuck all my back issues of Mizz magazine.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/08/2021 05:12

Walter's (later Burton's) potato puffs.

The best crisp like product ever.

daisychain01 · 12/08/2021 05:13

I wouldn't care how good his heart was Dotty, why are you with a man who's dragging you down in life. You're honestly 100% better off without someone who gambles, he's a loser.

Omg yes! I had forgotten about those, they were amazing!
Chunkymenrock · 12/08/2021 05:41

KP Wickers in prawn cocktail flavour.
Toffee and mallow eggs.
Old 80s Cadbury chocolate that tasted fantastic.

Chunkymenrock · 12/08/2021 05:42

Cream cheese Nik Naks.

Yes!

Also Kellogg’s Banana Bubbles (like coco pops but banana) and a maverick bar.

CluelessHamster · 12/08/2021 11:01

Just remembered the spicy tomato wheat crunchies sold for 9p a bag in the school tuck shop in the 1970s. Amazing! Before all the additives and msg were taken out!

TheDistortion · 12/08/2021 11:08

Tesco tinned chicken curry from circa 1986. With raisins in.
Bars of Cadbury’s milk chocolate to see how much it has changed
Something from the Body Shop’s daffodil range which they briefly had in the late 90s and probably stopped because nobody liked it, but I did!
Herbal essence shampoo from around 2000
A black new agey T shirt with sun and moon embroidered in a kind of yin yang that I had as a teenager

Chunkymenrock · 12/08/2021 18:33

Sunsilk de Parfum shampoo!

CatherineMorland · 12/08/2021 18:35

A lottery ticket with the winning numbers for last week’s Euromillions!

Cornettoninja · 12/08/2021 18:39

Bold refreshing spa washing powder. It was the perfect just washed smell and they changed it to some lotus flower rubbish. That and Safeway’s own purple shower gel.

homesickness · 12/08/2021 18:41

Bourjois java rice powder
Rommel sweet jelly lipgloss
Boots natural collection daisy chain shower gel

A very specific cheesecake from somerfield circa 2005

I also wouldn’t chuck out my childhood toys, I miss them like crazy as an adult sadly enough !!

I loved these. They were sort of rice crispie and raisins yes?

@Time40 yes to original 1920's clothes! I've been ploughing my way through Downton Abbey on the commute to work and those dresses, particularly the evening ones are wonderful.

I'd also go for a flat or a house where I was born in Bow. I couldn't afford a flat there for £47000 when I was in my 20's as my salary wouldn't cover the mortgage. A friend of the family offered to go in with me, but I wanted to do it on my own so I declined. A decision that I often have regretted.

On the chocolate front, I'd buy a shedload of Amazin' Rasin bars. I LOVED them Grin

Auxiliary016 · 12/08/2021 20:05

@orchidsonabudget Yes exactly that... But at the same time so much MORE than that, haha.

Can I add Lipsmackers lip balm to the list? And also, the jelly belly pick and mix from Woolworths 😍

That Harmony hair dye girl, her hair looks exactly the same before and after!

BalloonSlayer · 12/08/2021 21:10

I would like some Aapri facial scrub, thankyouverymuch.

OurspoonscamefromWoolworths · 12/08/2021 21:15

Bacon monster munch
United biscuits
Snoopy cola
Spangles
Definitely clothes - 1930s although I probably wouldn't fit into them
Misty comics
A 1970s/early 80s toy that was a plastic crystal ball that you inserted a card into to 'read' the future

ChocolateHoneycomb · 12/08/2021 21:23

St Ivel gold spread. It was yellow and buttery and delicious.

I used to love Fuse bars.

tomorrowalready · 13/08/2021 02:56

Boots Rainflower scent.
