I had an answerphone message on my land line. This is unusual in itself, cos I never use the phone.
However, when I listened it was two people talking to each other, a lady trying to sell medication to a man.
I just deleted it, but now thinking how odd it was.
How can a conversation between 2 people get onto my phone?
Some type of scam? But what and how? Or what?

it's weird yes, but there are plenty more things to worry about. delete & forget 👍🏻

I'm certainly not worried, just trying to figure it out.

Could someone have pocket called you or accidentally pressed redial at a pharmacy or while watching tv?

Probably just someone leant on their phone and dialled your number by accident so you got a recorded message of their convo

When we had a landline, years ago, a couple of times I picked up the receiver to hear a call going on between two unknown people, who were nothing to do with our house at all. Some sort of crossed wires. Why that would land on your answerphone I'm not sure!

It could have been when a scam number calls numbers one after the other until one answers, at which point a person attempts to sell you something (medication), so you didn’t answer but your answerphone kicked in a what you heard was the scammer on another call to another person.

I once had a robotic voice message saying, 'Mum, where are you, I'm scared.' It was in the early days of mobile phones and someone had texted our landline.

I think raffle may.be right. It definitely sounded like a phone conversation rather than an overheard in person conversation.
