Anyone know about parking in Blackpool

Boring thread alert. We are going to the Run the Lights event in Blackpool on Saturday. We won't arrive until about 4pm and the race starts at 9pm so will be leaving about 10pm ish. Where is a good and safe place to park? The park and rides seem to close at 8pm which is too early!

I usually park up near the tower there are some big well lit car parks there . ( not the multi storeys )

I work near the big Sainsbury’s so I park on Banks Street behind Blackpool north station. Can’t vouch for its safety at 10pm but it’s a big car park and quite well lit due to the station. I think the top floor of West Street is 24/7 but I’ve never been on there past 8pm. East Topping Street is nearer the winter gardens but you might struggle for a space at 4pm as there’s building works on the car park.

Most of the Blackpool council car parks are on the paybyphone app so you don’t have to worry about having cash.

We park in Bonny Street when we visit and it's always been ok but I've nevet been there as late as 10pm.

@Cookie79 I assume the big Sainsbury's has a time limit on parking does it?

@Hellocatshome I’d reckon so, think it shuts about 10pm ish. Never parked there though to be fair as my pass covers the council run car parks.

Sounds like fun though, DH and DD are doing ride the lights this year now we live up here and they’re really looking forward to it.

@Hellocatshome I think the sainsbury's car park is limited to 3 hours. And it is accessed through the store so "technically" shut when the shop shuts.
