Trafford Centre with kids advice

I have a very particular 8yo DS and he's doesn't like theme parks or similar so as his summer holiday treat we're going to stay in a hotel close to the Trafford centre.

We will do sealife and Lego land, but is there anything else anyone can recommend? Places to eat etc.?

Dino mini golf just at the side of the Trafford Centre.
Metrolink to Manchester football museum if its his thing or to media city for imperial War museum.
What kind of food do you like there are most chain type restaurants in the Trafford centre itself of you are in Manchester itself Rudys Pizza.

PoppyDotx · 10/08/2021 22:53

I think if I remember rightly they also have a sealife centre

CheekyChewinski · 10/08/2021 22:55

Thanks, not into football but mini golf will be a hit! He's into sushi and noodles so will def have to try is it the oriental section? Slightly more interesting then your standard yo sushi I guess!

My 9 year old liked chill factore

Starisnotanumber · 10/08/2021 23:03

Forgot the tree top adventure if its open, and the cinema.
The food court is split into 2 levels the ground floor is more takeaway macdonlds type meals where you sit in an area in the middle the first floor is more sit down places but not really posh at all.
A reasonable place is barburrito where they make burritos to your specification.

StoneColdBitch · 10/08/2021 23:22

Another big vote for Chill Factore!

Northernexile · 10/08/2021 23:25

Chill Factore and treetops high ropes thing deffo, my 9 and 6 year old love both

SpecialDeliveryService · 11/08/2021 00:10

If he likes noodles there's a Wagamamas and Tampopo

PJday41 · 11/08/2021 00:22

Is there still a cinema in it? I haven't been for years.

Bakewellisntjustacake · 11/08/2021 00:28

@PJday41 yep still a cinema!

CheekyChewinski · 11/08/2021 09:38

If you go to the War Museum, Media City is just across from it and has the Blue Peter Garden now. Also near the Coronation Street set.

There is a Science Museum in Manchester as well, or the Jodrell Bank radio telescope/visitor centre about an hour outside Manchester if he'd be interested in either of those. Have fun!

CheekyChewinski · 19/08/2021 13:38

Does anyone know which is the nearest hotel to Trafford centre?

Hoppinggreen · 19/08/2021 13:40

There’s one right by Chill Factore and there’s also a pub type place as you go into the Trafford centre that I think has rooms

Hoppinggreen · 19/08/2021 13:41

DS likes the Arcade in The Orient

cleanasawhistle · 19/08/2021 13:44

There is a large Premier Inn opposite the Trafford.
You have the option of walking to The Chill Factory and Trafford Centre etc from there.

AttaGirrrrl · 19/08/2021 13:45

Only me thinking ‘put him in the kids club while you go shopping’? Grin

EmergencyPoncho · 19/08/2021 13:46

There's bowling inside also, not sure if anyone mentioned it. There is a funfair thing also at the moment.

CheekyChewinski · 19/08/2021 14:41

@AttaGirrrrl definitely not just you thinking this 👀
