They dye Marie’s hair and he cuts it short. But he stays the same. Why?

Because Matt Damon looks like some kind of generalised clone of Unremarkable-Looking White American Guy? I mean, I suppose part of the point is that he looks like the wallpaper, anyway…?

I mean, I’ve just been watching the French series Lupin on Netflix, and my problem with suspending my disbelief was that this supposed ‘master of disguise’ was an extremely tall, powerfully-built, extraordinarily good-looking man, quite apart from being black in a series of white-dominated milieux.

Good point. I haven’t seen Lupin yet, would you recommend it? Apart from that aspect.

I love Lupin, and can now only say it in a French accent. The lead actor is marvellous!

The point is because people in Paris are largely racist Lupin can just be wallpaper. People don't see him because they don't think he is important. Even though he is quite extraordinary looking.

That’s awful but interesting. I remember the actor from Untouchables (I think that was the title) - have you seen it?

Thanks! Grin It’s coming back in the autumn!
