Rule, routines and boundaries that you have in place for your young children

Pretty broad topic I know but I’ve just went through an awful year following a shock separation with my husband and have finally got settled into my new house with my children who are 3 and 4. Both due to start nursery and school in a few weeks and I want to start trying to get some new positive routines and boundaries in place.

Not that I’m saying there are none now but screen time has definitely increased over the summer months as well as a few extra treats etc. All normal I know but definitely 2 things I want to rein in.
I’m hoping to maybe have no screen time before school at all however I’m not sure how realistic that is for me as I have to get ready for work in the mornings too and it’s the only real way to ensure there’s no fighting.

Anything that you have found has made a particularly positive impact on your young children?

School mornings waking up 20 mins fore the kids to get ready in peace!
Everything ready the night before.
Only 2 choices for breakfast in the morning.
Try to be consistent with bedtimes 90% of the time
Food only in kitchen as it limits crumbs

Only eat at the table or as a special treat on the sofa but only with a plate and no walking around.

Get dressed after breakfast every day

No secrets from Mummy (and/or Daddy in our case). If I say ‘no’ and it is ignored, there are ALWAYS consequences.
