Please share advice on stomach bug recovery

I had a stomach bug at the weekend. Awful d&v Sad one of the worst I've had.

I was last sick on Sunday mid afternoon. Dihorrea stopped by Sunday evening. I felt really achey and exhausted on Monday. I now feel quite light headed /slightly dizzy and fairly nauseous.

Any tips on how to ease these symptoms? I haven't had anything like this for years and I've forgotten what will help! Do I brave the awful tasting dioralite? Will it help?

I have a busy few days at work then I'm due to go on a UK holiday on Friday. So I need to try and get back on it!

Please share your tips on helping get over these symptoms wise mumsnetter's. Thanks

Clear Fluids, Water or flat lemonade. Plus rehydration salts.

Or if you don't like them, I find weal lemon barley water or peppermint cordial does the trick.

Plus plain carbs like Wholemeal bread without butter, then maybe a banana when you feel ready.
But don't rush. If symptoms return, go back to fluids and flush your system through.

I think electrolytes would help, but you can make your own e.g. lemon, water, honey, salt. Coconut water is also good.

I'd go for something really plain like toast to start with, vegetable or chicken soup, jacket potato and roasted veg.

I'm sure more knowledgeable peeps will be along, wish you better.

Sympathies, I’m a day behind you. I’ve been having orange ice lollies which have helped.

The pepto bismol is actually great. I've had some of that but I'm still pretty lightheaded and nauseous. Although worse without it. Which makes me feel its possibly dehydration or lack of electrolytes. Plus obviously the general exhaustion.

Sympathies with anyone who is going through this too. It's everywhere!!
