Where do I start

Hi im being moved soon. I will get less than a weeks notice. But I have to wait until a suitable property comes up. I could get a call tomorrow I could get a call in 2 months I just don't know.

I'm thinking it might be a good idea to have some sort of clear out . Maybe some stuff put away but I don't know where to start. It's really hard with no date and them not much notice.

Each time we have moved, and it’s been a lot, I had a good clear out.
Much easier to go to the tip or charity shop several times than try to do it all at once

Definitely start with a brutal clear out. If you don't use it, you don't need it. Any clothes you haven't worn for a year, gone. Shoes you don't really like, gone. Only keep the decorative stuff that you really love and makes you feel happy. Other than that, it's just a dust collector. Books you've already read and won't read again, gone. Old bills, magazines, unimportant paperwork, gone. Kitchen stuff you never use, gone.

You will be amazed at how good you will feel to let go of all that useless stuff.

How do you mean "you will be moved" - so you mean by the housing association or council?

I'd definitely start de-cluttering leaving stuff last minute is very stressful

I've never known anyone only being given a week to move house, it's usually a month. I have known some who have left everything to the last minute to sort out their things.

Start sorting now so when you are given the date, you don't have too much to do. I hope you have help! Good luck.
