Does your teen have their own Amazon account?

Just that really.
Usually if dc want something they just transfer the money on their phones and send us the link. To us, this makes sense as we have prime.
DC have now asked for their own account. It seem like "all their friends!" have one.

Dd15 has her own account using our prime benefits.

WhatHaveIFound · 09/08/2021 14:51

My DD is the same as LagneyandCasey's.

DS has his credit card stored on our account so if he wants something he pays for it himself.

HarrietSchulenberg · 09/08/2021 14:55

All mine have their own accounts. Youngest is 14 but the others got theirs at around that age. They have/had junior bank accounts with debit cards that they linked.

megletthesecond · 09/08/2021 14:56

No.

MadMadMadamMim · 09/08/2021 14:58

DS 16 has his own account. But he also has a bank account and a part time job, so he pays for his own Amazon stuff out of that.

I have Prime - and if he wants something quickly he usually just asks me to order it and gives me the cash.

VanishingWitch · 09/08/2021 15:02

No

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 09/08/2021 15:03

Yes but they rarely use it bar for wish lists. I have prime so quicker delivery so they tend to just ask for treats via that way.

Aunthe · 09/08/2021 15:09

Dd16 has had her own account since 14. She uses our prime benefits.

titchy · 09/08/2021 15:10

You can have I think four accounts all linked so if one has Prime delivery the others do too.

Dilbertian · 09/08/2021 15:16

Why wouldn't they? Once our dc had the wherewithal to pay for things online, it was up to them to open an Amazon account if they wanted one, and up to them to pay for Prime if they felt it was worthwhile. I haven't bought them something at their request, using my account, since they were about 13 or 14. Except for presents of course!

ItsOverFlo · 09/08/2021 15:19

Daughter 15 has her own account for Amazon and Ebay. She has her own bank account and I give her a small amount every month by standing order. Most of her friends don't though. She does chores for the money and never seems to run out, so I think it's taught her something.
Better than me anyway!

flameycakes · 09/08/2021 15:22

Yes. Sorted that one when one of my sons called the books I read 'mums smut'. Honestly they are not that bad 😀

cariadlet · 09/08/2021 15:29

Dp and dd both use my Amazon account because they can't be bothered to open their own. It's a pain because I can't buy presents for them from Amazon because they'd see what I'd bought.

gogohm · 09/08/2021 15:30

From 16, but were boarding so needed it (well wanted it)

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 09/08/2021 15:53

Yes it's linked to mine somehow so he gets the prime benefits
