Staying in Derby on Wednesday before going to Alton Towers on Thursday. Two DS (15 & 13) - anything you think they'd enjoy? Thanks.

Not really….the more interesting stuff is out of town. There’s a trampoline park, street food market thing in the market place, Quad might have something on…Sorry.

Just remembered that the Silk Mill has reopened so may be something of interest there?

A trip into Nottingham?

Derby is pretty awful nowadays, which is such a shame.

Derby Rams sculpture trail, 30 painted rams dotted across the city at interesting locations. Download the information, or get a hard copy of the trail leaflet from Derby museum. It's a different and fun way to discover the city sights.

Museum of making, its pretty good! There is also Derby Museum if they're into that sort of thing. Shopping centre (Derbion) but can't think of a lot else apart from the above mentioned trampoline park/food suggestions

Thanks all, shall check out. Read about Marketon Park where you can hire pedalos/rowing boats, is that still open?

Markeaton Park is open but check that everything is back up and running as they were limiting numbers last time I went (before 'Freedom Day'.)

I live in Derbyshire and honestly Derby is dire. There really isn't much to do and it's so run down. I'd get the train into Nottingham instead, it's far better.
