DD1 had horrendous nappies and was under a paediatrician. DD2 seemed so different at first, and went a lot less frequently but not too infrequently. When we first started weaning she took to it with great happiness but did suffer from constipation (longest time without a poo was about five days, but this only lasted a couple of weeks before she improved and was doing one every other day)
For the last few weeks though she's had rapid transit and does one (or two consecutive) enormous, acidic smelling and very loose pops first thing in the morning with loads of undigested food in. It's just the once, she follows her curve and has a huge appetite, but it just doesn't seem quite right. She's been teething throughout really so it could be that although I know it's sometimes considered a myth.
I think her diet is good, at the moment she'll still eat anything in front of her so I can be careful about what it is and follow all the guidelines, no juice or sugar etc, not too much fibre. I do wonder if she simply eats too much as she really enjoys her evening meal especially and it is our food (no salt) cut up for her so not mash or purée.
Any others the same? She follows her curve but is quite small as is her sister so want to keep an eye on it. She breastfeeds every 2-3 hours day and night still.
I will send an e-consult but think the most the GP would be able to do is a reducing substances test or something.
