They must've been having a laugh here?

Was browsing ASOS and stumbled across this...
Now, to be clear - I am NOT shaming the very pretty model! It's not about her at all. I'm just perplexed that they chose a shot where the bra is very clearly a very poor fit! This has to be some kind of joke at the model's expense, surely?! Or is it part of the seemingly new trend Zara started, of publishing the most ridiculous shots they have?!

Poor model. I feel for her

Ps, I'm not weight shaming either. I'm much bigger than this model. I'd be a ridiculous hypocrite!

Oh.
I look similar when in my bra and knickers.
I always pray I never get run over so nobody has to see me.

MorriseysGladioli · 09/08/2021 00:01

Just to be clear, I'm talking about the fit of the stuff, not the model, because she looks great. (I don't!)

Well it makes me feel better about my lopsided boobs if nothing else.

Not quite sure that's what the aim was though!

ozymandiusking · 09/08/2021 00:22

I'm not surprised the price has gone down to £4.55 Await further reductions. It's horrendous.

MotionActivatedDog · 09/08/2021 00:25

Why did they do that? It looks so bad- surely they can’t think that’s how to sell a product?

Knackeredmommy · 09/08/2021 00:37

That's a terrible fit! No wonder it's not selling.

Billandben444 · 09/08/2021 05:53

And yet on someone small busted who can't stand under wires it would be perfect.

andpeggy1 · 09/08/2021 06:21

I've found a lot of ASOS curves range (underwear or other clothing) is usually shown as a poor fit on the models. I'm with you it's not a stale on the models but the stylists who are at these shoots! Is it really that hard to get a bra where the tits actually fit in them????

Galassia · 09/08/2021 06:25

Would someone with the models proportions actually want to wear a non supportive bra top? All it does is protect her modesty and I can’t see it been worn outside of the house.

Those style tops are better suited to small busted women.

GnomeOrMistAndIceGuy · 09/08/2021 06:39

I'm seeing loads of "bralette" type non-whites bras aimed at big boobed women lately and don't get it. I have huge boobs and this just wouldn't work. I might as well be wearing nothing. They look great on smaller chested women for sure, but unfortunately I need a bit of scaffolding!

girlmom21 · 09/08/2021 06:43

It's ridiculous. Get her a proper fitting bra and show women they cater for everyone, surely?!

PinniGig · 09/08/2021 06:45

It looks like she's at that really dicy point of her tits spilling over and out of the bra which tends to happen when you're standing in the queue waiting to pay for fuel and have to choose whether to wait until you get back in the car or go rummaging and tuck yourself back in.

I don't give a shit though - sort myself out and tuck myself in and dish out the odd bit of straw that's got wedged down as well whilst I'm standing in Co-op eyeing up the chocolates.

Nobranothanks · 09/08/2021 06:50

I find most of the Savage x fenty site is like this. Some of the underwear is nice but it's all a terrible fit on the models!

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 09/08/2021 06:50

If that's the best that bra can look then I'd have no hope of looking good in it 😂

PinniGig · 09/08/2021 06:53

I'd just have a problem buying a bra that is marketed as "The perfect bra for that all day long tits are gonna spill over and out feeling"

I'm blessed with large lady pillows and what I want in a bra is to have it looking more straight jacket / pilots training in the centrifuge kinda firm. I don't want to be guaranteed that tit topple moment from the second I take it out the packet and put it on. That I can have any day of the week with any other bra.

LoislovesStewie · 09/08/2021 06:53

Having big boobs myself. I can say that the bra is completely unsuited to a generously proportioned woman. It's not unreasonable to expect something that fits and looks nice, is it?

SquirryTheSquirrel · 09/08/2021 06:56

The cup size is too small - it's cutting the model's boobs in half. It also looks like the bra provides no support, even though her boobs look quite perky for their size. I have big boobs though unlike the model's mine are middle-aged and saggy, and that's the sort of bra I'd run a mile from.

Hadenoughofthisbullshit · 09/08/2021 06:56

Those type of bras just aren’t going to work on big tits. She needs a browar:

RickOShay · 09/08/2021 06:57

I think some women wear soft bras for sleeping in.
This is a contender

SquirryTheSquirrel · 09/08/2021 07:03

I do, but that bra in that size relative to cup wouldn't work - after a few turn overs in bed, my boobs would be out of the bra and under my armpits. I wear this sort of thing as a sleep bra - it needs to hold everything in.
They must've been having a laugh here?
CloseYourEyesAndSee · 09/08/2021 07:16

The knickers are all wrong for a big woman too. Anyone with a belly can imagine what it would feel like to be wearing those. Big women need underwear designed for big bodies, not underwear for slim women scaled up.

TheChosenTwo · 09/08/2021 07:25

Oh my god, it’s so precarious looking! I’m clearly showing my age (35!) when I say I choose comfortable underwear. I’d feel too nervous to move all day wearing that.
And the knickers don’t look comfortable either.

daretodenim · 09/08/2021 07:33

Its not unusual that models with larger proportions are properly fitted in quite a lot of clothes on shoots (from what I see as a consumer). I put it down to stylists really being incompetent when it comes to working with models who aren't the traditional model proportions. Then there's the photography which is often done by men.

As an example, id be highly surprised if the stylist was a woman who was size 16+ with a large bust and that the photographer was also female and similarly proportioned. They see clothes as a body covering but don't realise there are real structural differences and purposes when bodies are proportioned differently to typical runway models.

daretodenim · 09/08/2021 07:34

And I guess that extends to some designers/buyers too who thinks that simply increasing the size makes it good for bigger bodies/boobs. It's absolutely not the case.
