Hey, I know this is an old thread, I’m looking for advice. My little girl (4) has been unwell for over 3 weeks now. The first two weeks she had a viral and very high temps over 39. Which we struggled to get down and were alternating calpol and nurofen. Now her temp has went the other way. And is very low, mostly at night when sleeping. Friday night it was 34.9. I woke her up worried gave her warm milk, and she went to 36. And the last two nights she’s been 35.5 at night and drenched in sweat. During the day, she feels cool to touch, but is happy enough and playing away. She’s wrapped up but does not get any warmer. Her day temp is not going over 36. I’m just unsure what to do, because we took her to out of hours on Friday night. And because she was 36 when we got there, we were just sent home. Im unsure if this is normal, this will be 4 days low temps. ( very low when asleep with crazy amount of sweating)
will it regulate and get back to normal? Or should I be taking her to hosp which will be the 4th time. In the last 3 weeks.
our thermometer works great. It’s the same as the paramedics. so I trust that , and also you just know when your child’s temp isn't right , her forehead is very cold, cheeks and torso, neck.
iv googled as much as I can, iv phoned 111 ,
I guess I’m looking for someone with similar stories that can tell me that it could possibly be normal and if things will get Back to normal range.
thank you so much x

@Pops34 take your child to A&E immediately - I am surprised 111 didn't tell you to? A low temperature is very concerning as it is a marker for sepsis.

A temperature of 36 degrees Celsius measured 3 times in 10 minutes is serious as it can be a sign of sepsis. You need to call 999.
