I paired ds socks (annual event) made an exceptional pudding, and thought no bad thoughts about MIL. quite pleased.

@TwoZeroTwoZero it's good to turn something annoying around and make it work for you though, I'm often awake at 5 so have taken to getting up then sometimes, amazing what can be done early doors.

OP you’ve had an extra achievement starting such a kind and positive thread!

I’m relieved I eventually got help for DS whose eye was swelling shut and 111 , a&e and an eye unit at the hospital said to do different things/ ring elsewhere/ each other... and sadly I couldn’t get the antibiotic ointment the eye specialists said it needs . They said he needed one for allergies but they didn’t want us to come in and the supermarket pharmacist gave us one that only helps for bacteria or something and might be no help but felt better than nothing!

We then made two types of jam in our new 2nd hand breadmaker ! and 2 loaves bread, we are going to end up a bit rounder very quickly I think as enjoying it

Italyanyday · 08/08/2021 22:49

We took our kids swimming and had a nice session, which was an improvement on earlier in the week when my toddler hated every second of it having not been since before Lockdown 1. Progress.

I cooked a roast dinner and my 5 year-old cleared the plate without a fuss and actually thanked me for the effort. This never happens.

I saved money on drinking out by taking a thermos flask with us. Finances are tight and we are getting much better at spending less. A good lesson to learn.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 08/08/2021 22:51

I did some work spreadsheety stuff, but then relaxed watching the Olympics, and have done the housework.

TeaandHobnobs · 09/08/2021 15:45

@Stovetopespresso you win ‘Loveliest MNer of the Year’ for me with this thread Flowers

tellmetologoffIamaMNaddict · 09/08/2021 15:59

I finally got around to getting some leaflets printing and I walked to the top of a big hill near me without stopping to catch my breath. Feeling low today so could use the bigging up!

SimonJT · 09/08/2021 16:13

I’ve cleaned all of the grout in the en-suite.

I’ve done all the shopping and put it in cool boxes etc so we have everything we need for our little holiday.

FuzzyPuffling · 09/08/2021 16:16

I have cleaned the outside drain, made some chocolate chip biscuits and most definitely washed my hands very well in between these two activities.

Christinayangtwistedsister · 09/08/2021 16:19

I've only scoffed two from a full box of After Eights

WeatherwaxOn · 09/08/2021 16:19

I have written, printed and sent anlong complaint letter to the CEO of a company who have failed to reply to a complaint I raised 2 months ago. So I have complained about the incident and the complaint handling.

I have done a big load of washing.

I'm just about to go and scrub a floor.

Hen2018 · 09/08/2021 17:18

I sold my storage heaters last week, which left holes and scuffs in the walls of every room. There were other marks and dings and I have filled all these and made rather a splendid job of sanding them flat and cleaning up afterwards.

Next I’m going to make a “proper” curry - base sauce is from the Curry Secret book and I have the coconut flour and cream for a korma.

PresidentJoey · 09/08/2021 18:00

I told a creepy customer not to call me 'sweetheart'. He got all defensive and muttered under his breath 'I bet your husband doesn't call you that'.

I quietly added 20% onto his invoice Grin

suziedoozy · 09/08/2021 18:03

I went to the gym for the first time in months at 6am

Then I took my toddler swimming, worked whilst she napped

And had a friend around for dinner

I’m feeling like I did really well 😀

Kneel · 09/08/2021 18:03

I cut my guinea pigs nails with no blood shed - theirs or mine! First time ever.

Not an achievement yet but hopefully by the end of the day I'll have finished the huge Harry Potter cross stitch I started over a year ago.

FuzzyPuffling · 09/08/2021 18:24

I'm enormously impressed by everybody's activity/creativity/hard work. What powerhouse we all are.

TheChosenTwo · 09/08/2021 19:59

I was at the gym very early this morning as I had to drop dd at work anyway. Felt quite proud of myself Grin
Then I came home, showered and changed and got the other 2 up and we drove to the coast for a fish and chip lunch on the beach, arcade fun and rides before getting some hot doughnuts and coming home. A lovely day and I feel like we’ve achieved more than just sitting around for another day.

badlydrawnbear · 09/08/2021 20:46

I persuaded my DC to get dressed and leave the house for a walk.

I got over my anxiety and indecision about taking DC and a friend out later in the week, booked it and arranged it with friend's mum.

I got the washing in before it started raining!

JoyOrbison · 09/08/2021 20:50

I weeded, dug over and replanted our (little) front garden then weeded out a cobbled path that took bloody ages. My arms are starting to feel like they might fall off and I am seizing up!

I survived day 8 of sertraline for anxiety that I’ve been ignoring for months
I’ve written a list for my day off tomorrow and I’m about to treat myself to an early night 😊

I bet the front garden is looking neat as a pin, hot bath time now?
