Can sender delete whats app photo and trace of any message?

A new contact had sent me photos and now I cant see them but have not deleted anything my end. Can they delete all trace? Thank you

I dont think they had done it within an hour but it appears to have gone. If I have back up to google would it have been backed up before they deleted?

There's a new option on watsapp to make images viewable once only, then they self destruct. When you send a photo, a little one in a countdown clock appears and you press it to enable the feature. It just started last week. Snapchat works on a similar principle.

You can set your own WhatsApp messages to disappear after 7 days from any particular chat thread.

Has it auto saved to your phone? I have an album in my photos where all the WhatsApp photos automatically appear unless I delete them

Photos were sent by holiday company to confirm what we have booked a while ago! I thought my phone automatically backed up to google but cant now access it as I havent tried for so long. Does anyone know if this back up would continue if I havent used it? I knew i hadnt deleted any photos on my phone so stupidly presumed they would still be there as proof of what we had agreed.

There are apps which store deleted messages and disappearing photos, no help for you op but I only just learnt this.

Any advice re accessing google backup not used for years - would it still be working?
