DS is waiting on his F1 study visa. Then he will be off to the States.

I know I need to get him a PCR test before plus he needs to fill out an electronic form.

He has an interconnecting flight so will he need to isolate at his destination for 5 days then retest? Will the airline advise us?

Is he vaccinated?

Can he not check with his university liaison? If he’s going to be living in the states by himself he should be confident to organise these things. He should have a NIE as well if he’s on an f-1 visa.

Where is he studying? Quarantine policy is dependent upon which state he's in and whether he's vaccinated.

He's living with a host family...Kanaloa he's just 16 and things change all the time...we are all researching.

I need to check with the school maybe.

No vaccination as only 16 not doing it in the UK for this age yet plus US havent stipulated.

He has all relevant paperwork ... just want to be 100% clear he can travel

You are best checking with the actual airline as well. You can usually ring them, or check on their website when you print your boarding passes - some of them have different allowances.

Has he a contact at the school? If he’s only 16 they should be able to provide him more information but exchange programmes are usually very lax/let you do it all yourself. If he has his visa, his national interest exception and a negative test valid for the 72 hours before he travels he should be okay. He may have to test again when he’s over there though.

Yes trying to get through to Virgin to check.
Will get his host family to book 2 and 5 day tests to be delivered to them. Think its 7 day isolation
