Any recommendations for a small/independent business to try solid shampoo from?

I've been dithering for months & still am, over what to try.

I wondered if anyone bought from an independent company they'd recommend? I'll probably dither some more - I've been hanging onto some birthday money for ages with no real idea of what to do with it - but it'll give me some more "window shopping" to do!

Soaps for little suds. Their conditioner bars are also amazing. I Think they are closed through August as the owner is on holiday but worth considering!

boocottage.co.uk shampoo bars.

I use these bars. Really recommend them. No residue and my hair is clean and soft.

Shampoo bar has lasted me a couple or months with sometimes daily use. I’m still on my first bar of conditioner.
Wouldn’t ever go back to bottles of shampoo and conditioner.

Another vote for Gruum. The shampoo lathers really well and the conditioner is great. I have thick, long hair and it works a treat.

Disfordarkchocolate · 08/08/2021 08:37

Bain and Savon. Their soap bars are fantastic.

Also, The Friendly Soap Company. Very good shampoo, amazing conditioner.

Came on to recomend gruum - can see 2 others have beaten me to it! I love their brightening shampoo & conditioner will never go back to bottles. Just discovered you can do subscription boxes which makes them cheaper. I have a strong dislike of their branding but their ethos & products are great. As a side note their jasmin bath soak is also amazing!

I started using the sandlewood bar in lockdown and my hair has never been in such good condition from the oxford soap company: oxfordsoapcompany.co.uk/collections/shampoo-bars

Another vote for soaps for little suds here www.littlesuds.co.uk/. I discovered them a few years ago getting little soaps with toys in for DD's party bags (yes really and they are amazing). Their shampoo and conditioners are just wonderful. Well done for supporting small businesses and hope you get some lovely things

I've tried several but have found Grüum to be the best. It lathers brilliantly which some of the other brands don't.

dementedma · 08/08/2021 09:11

Little Blue Hen are the best I've tried so far

ninebiscuits · 08/08/2021 09:21

I love the products from my little eco shop. Sunshine shampoo bar is lovely, as are the bath bombs.

Greenloft naturals. www.greenloftnaturals.co.uk/for-body

A small, one woman Scottish company run by a lovely lady who had a background in industrial chemistry. I use her stuff all the time, it's really good.

I know it's not what OP was asking for, but the goats milk moisturiser from this company is awesome!

I've just started using one from Blushberry Botanicals and really liking it so far. I'm using the unscented one as I've had bad reactions to scented ones from other companies but going to try a scented one next just to see.

I second this, their shampoo bars and deodorant are amazing

Another vote for Gruum. Their Shea butter solid shampoo is one of the best things I have ever put on my hair (dry, thick, curly).

I like the little goat soap company. Shampoo bars are lovely.

I'd like to move to solid shampoo, but I can't seem to find one made for coloured hair? Am I missing something?

I’ve been using this for my dyed dark hair, but they also do a brightening one which I suppose would work for highlighted hair.

Sausagis · 08/08/2021 22:12

I love gruum, and they have one for colored hair.
