What’s Happening In Your House?

I am chilling with a glass of Chardonnay after a very busy shift - the weather wasn’t great so all the tourists came shopping! Didn’t eat lunch until late so we’ll probably have tea around 8.30 ( lamb rump steaks marinated with rosemary & garlic, dauphinois potatoes & broccoli). I’m shattered as haven’t been sleeping well & last night was particularly bad as I had a shocking sicky headache & lower back pain to add to the joys! Certainly won’t be in bed too late, although I do want to watch Casualty after last week’s cliffhanger. DD12 is halfway through dyeing her hair ocean colours - she’s doing a great job. She’d previously put rose gold on top of the bleached blond but it didn’t show up. DH has a new driving school car & he’s just finished putting all the signs etc on it. Two of the bunnies are out & have had carrot batons. They get so excited when they see treats, bless them ❤️🐰

I'm enjoying the peace, everyone else is out. Having a glass of wine

CurryLover55 · 07/08/2021 19:04

Just seen that someone has done a similar post. Is anyone out there though?

I have no idea as I've taken myself off to a hotel for 3 days on a mammy detox! Dh and kids at home no doubt ordering takeaways! I've been shopping bought new pyjamas some nice shower stuff a bottle of club orange and a bottle of captain morgan! So I'm gonna enjoy that in a nice hotel bed watching telly!

FleetwoodRaincoat · 07/08/2021 19:27

DH watching cricket (yawn). DS at a party. I'm drinking tea and eating custard creams. Rock. And. Roll.

Summernamechange2021 · 07/08/2021 19:34

Enjoy @fightingirish sounds amazing.

Me and the kids are stuck at home self isolating. I'm on the couch and they've just gone upstairs playing. 2yo had a late nap so is already up past his bedtime.

Dp has been double vaccinated so doesnt have to self isolate (we're in Ireland in case the rule isnt the same in the UK) so hes just left to go get fish and chips.

fightingirish · 07/08/2021 19:38

It's bliss dh and I both do it each once a year! It's a recharge the batteries and do things I like to do without kids butting in! Dh will head off with a few others, I prefer to go alone, 3 days of doing my things when and if I want!
Would recommend it to anyone!
This time I even managed to get home to Ireland! Hence the club orange!

Summernamechange2021 · 07/08/2021 19:44

Brilliant @fightingirish, I'm in Ireland too and DP has just gone out to get us Supermacs. Cod and chips from there is 668 calories so I can have it and still say under the daily calories a day I need to lose weight.

nettytree · 07/08/2021 19:49

I had a very nice hour in bed with my hubby this afternoon while the kids were glued to their tablets. But now I've had to go to work.

MrsDThomas · 07/08/2021 20:19

Watching Bridesmaids in DD2’s room with a glass of red. She’s gone away for a few nights.
DS in his room as usual
DD1 In her room
DH in the living room on sky sports

I like my own company

MrsDThomas · 07/08/2021 20:21

@fightingirish sounds lovely!

I think a lot of us would like to knock on your hotel door!

fightingirish · 07/08/2021 20:25

@Summernamechange2021 I'd love a supermacs, the taco fries are too die for,
I've missed home, had a walk around dunnes grocery today making me lists of stuff to bring back with me?

Holy Jesus tho, went to go for a cup of tea today, that's some ordeal felt like a mi5 interrogation, had to show jab proof and driving licence!

fightingirish · 07/08/2021 20:26

@MrsDThomas work away! Head for Dublin!

maisiedaisy64 · 07/08/2021 20:35

Also in Ireland over here! waves
Sitting on the couch with the dog who’s on heat and hormonal. I’m 11 weeks pregnant so not much better on the hormonal front! Also dying of heartburn. Had lunch late so dinner is cooking, need to put on some veg though. DH is doing some paperwork, will probably watch a film later

MrsDThomas · 07/08/2021 20:36

Blimey Holyhead is just an hour away😛

PresidentJoey · 07/08/2021 20:45

I was quite happily watching the football earlier when an ambulance turned up and took my neighbour away. They put an oxygen mask on him, I hope he's ok Sad

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 07/08/2021 20:46

Watching anime with DS1. Going to watch the last couple of episodes of my hero academia, then on to something new I think Grin

Gingernaut · 07/08/2021 20:49

I've pulled out a ukulele and tried the chords to the only song I know, thinking 'muscle memory' would mean I wouldn't have to look at the chords.

I've got muscle amnesia.

TheScottishPlay · 07/08/2021 20:57

Just done physio to help bursitis in my knee. I've been clearing out my Mum's house. She died last week.
DH went to the football today for the first time since the first lockdown and is eating crisps waiting for DS (17) phoning for a lift home from his pal's.
'Dinner' was McDonald's fries and an apple pie as couldn't be bothered.

stealingbeauty · 07/08/2021 21:02

We had lentil soup and crusty bread, now we’re sharing a bottle of white wine. I’m in the bedroom reading a book. DP is downstairs watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

fightingirish · 07/08/2021 21:14

@MrsDThomas we must be near each other wales side so!

corkernewyorker · 07/08/2021 21:24

Nearly bedtime here. Children are in bed and hopefully long asleep. We're just watching an episode of alone in the wilderness USA after a busy day of DIY. I have wallpapered for the first time today and feeling proud. Husband has spent the day putting the radiator back on the wall and plumbing it in which has involved much swearing, wet towels and trips to the store for bits and pieces. We've got to get the room ready for guests next week so no pressure! Tomorrow will be slightly more relaxing, I hope.

Purplepeoniesdroppingpetals · 07/08/2021 21:57

I’m having a marathon bath - reading a book interspersed with mumsnet; one son is asleep after working at a museum today (good money for a casually employed student); other son is chatting up his girlfriend on FaceTime- nice to hear them laughing. Husband is downstairs listening to Pearl Jam I think - he loves them and it brings back memories of pissed up nights with his brother who passed away. Mellow night in spite of a Gale outside.

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 07/08/2021 22:01

DD's probably watching or reading Jojo, DS2's watching YouTube, I'm multitasking between MNing, playing with Picrew, playing The Walking Dead, scrolling through Twitter and roleplaying, also on Twitter, DH is probably asleep on the sofa by now.
