Pens for year 5 children?

I’ve realised that I need to get my son a pen / set of pens for year 5. We’ve been asked not to get them ballpoints. I wrote in fountain pens at secondary (similar rule about ballpoints and they thought they’d improve my appalling handwriting) but they were a leaky faff.

Please could you give me your recommendations?

Thank you!

What about the Berol handwriting pens? Those were the first ones I got when I was allowed to switch to writing in ink

Thought you meant a play pen, came on to see what the story was.

DD2 got on well with Uniball Air - I like them too.

DD1 used Stabilo Easy which encourage good grip. We tried loads for her has she has dyspraxia.

We didn't get on with the Berol ones, you seemed to have to hold them too upright in our experience.

I'd second the berol handwriting pens.

Otherwise a gel pen.

We normally use Berol Handwriting or Frixion Pens.
