Swollen fingertip-red,hot and tingling

Hi, I wondered if anyone can give me any ideas of what could be wrong with my little finger.
Yesterday afternoon my little finger tip became itchy, within an hour it was hot, tingly and swollen. It’s the same today. I can barely bend the end of the finger because the skin feels so tight. There’s no obvious signs of a bite.
It looks better in the photos than in reality.
Any ideas what could have happened to my poor finger? I’ve put antihistamine cream on it but it’s not done anything.

Maybe the start of a Whitlow? Soak it in hot ( not boiling) salted water and see if anything appears.

Second the whitlow - they can be agony but fairly easily sorted.

I’ll have a go at soaking it. In better light I can see some very small bumps on one side of the finger which is where the tingling and heat is

Sounds like Whitlow. After soaking put some savlon cream on it and cover it with a plaster to help keep it soft and draw it out. Soak 3x a day.

Or paronychia?

Or paronychia? Same thing Smile

Thanks,I’ve done the first soaking and have a plaster over it.
I’ve read about whitlow and I’m confused how I would have it but my lymph nodes have been swollen behind my ears so could it be an immune system issue?
It’s now tingling up the side of my hand intermittently as well. My poor finger! Grin

I think it can just be from a tiny cut, really common.
