How do you get cheap last minute theatre tickets

DS1 wants to see a certain West End show. I keep hearing about how you cam get them cheap at the last minute, but I don't know how. There are a few tickets available for tonight, but they're all at full price, whichever site I look at.

We don't live in London, so not easy to turn up last minute on the off chance. Is there another way?

Some theatres used to have lotteries for cheaper tickets but that was before COVID so not sure if they still do

I have no idea why I know so much about this as I go to the theatre about once a decade lol

I went to The Mousetrap a few weeks ago and they do tickets for less than £20 on the day, I just bought direct from the theatre website a few hours before curtain up ( was a very last minute decision, not sure I’d have the guts to play chicken with tickets to a show I really wanted to see)
