Do you feel left out of discussions that revolve around twitter?
I have an account but my last tweet was in 2013. I'm an introvert, twitter feels too fast and too public and it's just not for me. It feels like one of those long-running soaps where it's impossible to understand if you come in in the middle.
I set up a whatsapp group for a shared interest, I know all the people in the group irl. One sees herself as a bit of a twitter personality and urged everyone to join in, increasingly in the group chat they reverence tweets without any context. I feel left out.
Is there a way of fixing this without seeming miserable? I'm not trying to change the course of the conversation, I just want to be included, a little context or a screenshot would bring me back in.
I'm also open to participating but I find twitter such a downer, is there a way to get the gist without spending loads of time there? I used to have an app which gave an overview but things have probably moved on.
We paused actual get-togethers due to covid (and now holidays), I suspect face-to-face contact will go a long way toward being included again, this is really mainly a sm issue.
