Help! 6mo waking between 4 and 5am

Hi all, my 6mo has started waking anytime between 4 and 5 every morning. We have tried black out blinds, white noise, different bed times and nothing seems to work. Has this happened to anyone and does anyone have any tips?
I’m going to visit family in Ireland soon and I’m just dreading it with the early unsociable starts!
Thanks!

Hahaha sounds like normal baby..... mine goes through days of wanting to party between 3:30-5am.

nothing i do changes this (baby no3) bed early/late, no naps, more naps, controlled nap times, more food/certain food. Nothing on the earth can help sway a baby to stay in bed later than they want too.

it's all todo with growth spurts, brain leaps, teeth, wet bum, etc....

ride it out & drink coffee

What are the baby's naps like during the day?

There's not much you can do. They go through stages at that age unfortunately.

He is just a little baby. I don't think there is much you all an do. When you visit I assume your DC will be sleeping on with you so I guess you change them and feed them and hopefully they will snuggle up with you for a little while. Surely other people understand that babies often wake early.

Sorry OP, that's totally normal Smile
My 14 Month old hasn't outgrown that phase yet! Bright and early, 4am starts every Morning in My house Thanks

MaMaD1990 · 06/08/2021 06:57

It's a phase unfortunately. My 2yr old is in at the moment and it's exhausting. Would you bring baby into bed with you so you can get some extra sleep/rest? Not for everyone but worth a go if you're desperate.

My DD2 always woke that sort of time, maybe slightly later in the winter when it was darker. Nothing changed it unfortunately. She still got up early as a child but was taught to stay in bed quietly. Now as a 17 year old she still wakes between 6 and 7 every day, no teenage sleeping until noon for her. It's just the way she's made, at least we've never had trouble with her getting to school on time

InpatientGardener · 06/08/2021 07:25

My DD started waking at 5 at around 7 months, we're three weeks away from her 1st birthday and she's done a few nights of waking between 6-6.30 if that gives you hope but it is a long old slog and nothing we did changed when she woke.

Raffles1981 · 06/08/2021 07:30

My DS3 used to wake between 2.30am and 3am. It's just something I put up with so can't say there is a way to get through this OP. I do remember we went away for a few days to Edinburgh and he slept right through because he was so tired. So it is possible your little one will sleep but I doubt there is much you can do.

My youngest had a phase of waking up at 5am which started mid winter. It was so grim, dark and cold. Dreaded it! Luckily it was a very short lived phase so there's hope! Can you nap when your baby does?
